More ‘Metal Gear Solid V’ & ‘Shadowrun: Hong Kong’

Does “Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain” make any sense to newcomers? Does that even matter? Chris and JJ begin their serial review of Hideo Kojima’s new game. Plus, an audio “Let’s Play”: JJ narrates a playthrough of the turn-based tactical RPG “Shadowrun: Hong Kong.”

Chris says JJ got the avatar-creation joke in the prologue to “The Phantom Pain” backward. To which JJ says, “Are you saying I didn’t quite understand what was going on in the hospital?”

Just found your website while searching for reviews or podcasts about MGS5 and really enjoying the content so far. Though I’m a long time metal gear series fan, it’s great to the series through the eyes of ppl who are fresh to it.

Also, the short runtime is good and keeps things from getting too long winded. The Lets Play segment was quite unique for me at least but I wonder if it would be better with 1 person playing and the other person commentating with some questions here and there for the player? Anyway, glad I found this show and I’ll be sure to listen to some older episodes in the archive.
